BCC Executive Meeting March 12, 2024

Minutes – March 12th , 2024
In Attendance: Allan Wilson, Trina Dresser, Jim Orr, Gail Wilson, Dana Holowaty, Nancy Haarstad,

Meeting was called to order at 7:12 PM
•
Approval of the agenda Dana moved to approve the agenda
•
Approval of the minutes from the meeting held Feb 13 – Allan moved to approve the minutes
•
Treasurer’s report – Trina gave the treasurer’s report. Jim moved to approve the treasurer's report, seconded by Nancy, carried
•
New Business & Correspondence
o
Mixed Bonspiel – There are 20 teams registered
o
Gift Certificates for league winners, ice techs, and lounge attendant

An online meeting/motion was made by Jim
•
To purchase $50 gift certificates for each member of each of the winning teams in our leagues.
•
To purchase $100 restaurant gift cards for the ice techs and Shannon
•
Motion carried
•
Lounge attendant – This is Shannon’s last year as our lounge attendant. Jim will advertise on our social media and contact the Town of Bentley to add something to their newsletter.

Old Business
o
Ladies Bonspiel – The Ladies Bonspiel had a profit of $248 (not including proceeds from the bar)
o
Seniors Bonspiel – The Senior’s Bonspiel had a profit of ~$2700
o
Raffle tickets – At present there are 13 boxes unsold, 48 books out with the members, and 69 books returned.
o
Town of Bentley Grant – We were awarded a $5000 grant by the Town of Bentley. The club applied for the grant to replace our cash register and point of sale system, and a new beverage cooler.

The cash register and POS system has been purchased

Rather that replace our cooler we had it repaired for ~$600
o
Casino – A group of volunteers from our curling club worked at a casino Feb 24th and 25th. We are expecting a payout of about $30,000
o

Next Meeting Date: there was not a future meeting scheduled.
